Through the Witches lookbook collection, Slovenian fashion designer Janja Videc searches for her relationship to the archetypal image of the wild woman, the witch, which is often deeply buried in the modern woman's psyche due to historical facts. Her research, which still continues on a personal level, manifested itself through the story of a modern woman, an archetypal witch, who in the outside world lives a completely ordinary life in the middle of a chaotic metropolis, but at the same time resides in her inner world, in the middle of the forest, where completely different rules rule legality.
In the first world, everything is based on the level of form and is truly only what is visible to the eyes, therefore silhouettes, as the most visually exposed element of the collection, they imitate the geometric shapes of urban architecture. In another world, reality is mirrored through senses, perceptions, touch and intuition. The collection is not seasonally defined, does not follow fashion guidelines and does not define itself in terms of purpose or target group. As is typical of all the designer's collections, this time too her aim was to create clothes that are not intended only for a specific season, but for each individual. With this aim, she started from classical aesthetics, to which she added her personal touch and chose monochromatic colors, which do not scream for attention, but emphasize subtle beauty.
