Women on the verge of a nervous breakdown

The title of the new stage production pleases all lovers of that interplay of bizarreness, comedy and eccentricity, which is also evident in the successful Patty Difusa. Both texts share the name of film director and screenwriter Almodóvar. This time, MGL is bringing a musical to Slovenia, which premiered two years ago at Broadway's Belasco Theatre, but was based on the film of the same name from the late 80s by the then not-so-well-known Pedro Almodóvar. Fans of the slightly eccentric film genre remember that Antonio Banderas played Carlos in the black comedy, and the film catapulted the Spanish director to stardom. Slovenian actors will take us to Madrid this time (Tanja Ribič, Primož Pirnat, Jožef Ropoša and many others), but the experience promises similar pleasures. We will get involved in the world of the forty-two-year-old actress and singer Pepe, who is abandoned by her boyfriend Iván. From here on, the story is a little less predictable, as in rapidly changing scenes we meet Iván's ex-wife Lucia, who is suing her ex-husband... She is also accompanied by her timid son Carlos, who wants to move away from his mother together with his fiancee Marisa. The central part of the plot is prepared by Pepa herself, when in revenge against Iván she prepares gazpacho with a handful of sleeping pills. Marisa accidentally drinks this when she comes to see the apartment. During her sleep, Carlos and Candela, Pepa's friend, have a love affair, and Lucia is furious because she will lose another son. Peppa's pregnancy also causes the women to reach the extreme edge of a nervous breakdown. Milan Dekleva, Alja Predan and director Diego de Brea took care of the singability and appropriateness of the Slovenian language.
