Wooden coffee tables with a touch of Peru

For their latest project, Swedish designers Mattias Rask and Tor Palm, who work at Glimpt Studio, went to the village of Yungay in Peru, where they researched the techniques used by manual craftsmen, wood masters.

The result is a collection Prehistoric Aliens, which they made together with Peruvian artisans who took care of the masterful production of hand-carved wooden coffee table bases. They combined modern outdoor furniture with traditional techniques and presented it all as part of the new collection Cappellini NEXT at this year's furniture fair in Milan.
