Most people don't know his name, but behind the name is the music we've all come to know and love. Yann Tiersen is the composer of the music for the film Amélie. At the beginning of the new millennium, the French film Le Fabuleux Destin d'Amélie Poulain, or The Interesting Fate of Amélie Poulain, showed the life of the main character, who we immediately fell in love with, in an innovative and different way. A big role in this is played by the music, which added additional weight to the film. In France, Yann Tiersen drew attention to himself with the early studio albums La Valse des monstres, Rue des cascades and Le phare. He achieved international fame with his original music, which he contributed to films, including the film Goodbye Lenin. The classically educated musician was very enthusiastic about alternative rock in his youth. He played in many rock bands around Rennes, where he was born and grew up. He also wrote mood music that was used in short films and in the theater. He always impressed his audience at his live performances, as he skilfully combined different musical genres. Modern classics, in which French folk music, chanson, waltz, street music, rock, avant-garde, classics and minimalism are mixed, are always emotionally colored, which adds some indescribable added value to the music, which every listener feels. He will present his new album Dust Lane with the French-English group here. He will be joined on stage by Stephane Bouvier on bass, Christine Ott on ondes martenot, which is a kind of keyboard, Matt Elliott on guitar, Dave Collingwood on drums and Robin Allender on guitar. The new heroes of the Berlin off-scene, Lonski & Classen, will warm us up as an opening act.
