Almost every driver is convinced that they are the best - and yet there are some tricks that even those who are skilled behind the wheel DON'T KNOW about. They cost next to nothing and will save you from stress on the road.
1. Use the cabin air circulation button.
It is probably one of the most forgotten buttons on our dashboard - pressing it will start circulating the air in the cabin, and the ventilation system it won't be anymore air intake from polluted surroundings. The function is welcome in dense city traffic or driving through a tunnel. In the summer, this way you can enable the circulation of cold air in the cabin, which does not mix with the hot outside air.
2. Save fuel by removing excess weight.
Many people have things in their trunks that they haven't needed in ages and just carry them around - if those things are heavier, that's only going to contribute to higher fuel consumption. The same applies to roof racks and cases, which should be removed as soon as possible when not in use.
3. Use detergent to remove stains from car windows.
After several years of use, a stubborn film accumulates on car windows fat, which you may not even see at first glance. The easiest way to remove this is with dishwashing liquid - all you need is a cloth pre-soaked in warm water and dishwashing detergent. Once you have removed stubborn grease stains, you can continue cleaning glass cleaners.
4. Mark the location of your car on the map.
It can happen that you get confused in a big and new city and have a hard time finding your way back to your parked car. If you have a cell phone with support in your pocket GPS, you can easily mark the location of your parked car on the map - so you will never have a problem locating your car again.
5. Put the towels in socks.
The following trick will come in handy in winter - removing ice from the windows is annoying enough, but it's even more annoying when the wipers freeze. You will have the least problems with them if they you 'dress' in socks – these will protect them from the weather and thus you will have one less problem on cold mornings.
6. Removing car decals with newspaper.
You've probably had the experience when you got tired of a sticker or it got damaged and you wanted to remove it - it left behind traces of glue that stubbornly stuck to the surface of the car. And you will be the easiest removed with newspaper – wet it with warm water and place it on top of the remaining glue. After it has sufficiently moistened and adhered to the glue, leave it alone for 10 minutes. Then carefully scrape it off the car with a plastic tool (window deicer).
7. Fix 'blurred' headlight problems.
For this type of problem, you will need a grinder and a headlight care kit. You will also need a bit more time and some skill while 'polishing' the headlights with different sanders. When the headlights are as if they were covered with snow, use a special liquid, which is also an integral part of the headlight care kit. After the procedure, the lights will be like new, but above all they will ensure safer driving.
8. Use Coke to remove rust.
Coca-Cola is available worldwide: thanks to its bubbles and phosphoric acid, it can be used to remove rust from iron and other metal alloys. Pour the liquid over the rusted surface and then scrub it with a brush or toothbrush. After removing the rust, do not forget to rinse the area with plain water.
9. Use drain unclog for body dents.
Probably none of us would have thought that a drain unclog can be useful elsewhere, not only in the kitchen and bathroom. You can even use it for smoothing the middles and smaller ones dents on the body of your car. Wet the dent. Use the unclog as you use it when you want to unclog the kitchen sink. Pull until the surface is flat again.
10. Get out of sand or mud with a shovel.
If it has happened to you that you have had a car "into a ditch", you know from your own experience that this is far from a pleasant situation. In such a case, it is important to keep calm and handle the situation wisely. If you venture into the 'wilderness', take a shovel with you. It is essential, yes remove as much mud or sand as possible from around the wheels, as this will be the easiest way to 'dig out'. If that still doesn't work, start 'rocking' the car back and forth - once you've got enough momentum, you might be able to free yourself from the grip of the unsuitable ground quite quickly.
11. Separate the car ignition key and the remote for opening.
Nowadays, opening a car with a remote control is a matter of course. Many car brands already offer keyless start, however there are many more that still require you to start the car with a key. Separating the unlock pendant and ignition key can come in handy in this case robbery, places or if you are by mistake locked the keys in the car.
12. The arrow next to the fuel tank indicates where the opening for filling fuel is located.
It often happens that at some point we forget on which side our car has the fuel filler opening. But most drivers did not even notice that in many cases we have an arrow drawn next to it fuel icons, located next to the fuel gauge. The arrow to the right or left of the fuel icon indicates the direction on which side the opening is located.
