This year, Lonely Planet magazine has also selected 10 cities that should be on the list of every real traveler in 2015. From slightly larger ones in distant destinations to smaller ones, perhaps close to us or completely unknown.
10. Toronto, Canada
Why? Because they predict that as many as 250,000 visitors will come to Canada's most populous city next year thanks to the Pan/Parapan American Games.
9. Chennai, India
Why? Because it is a colorful Indian city, full of hustle and bustle on the streets, dominated by the beauty of temples, city markets and delicious food. The city also boasts a very famous beach, and in 2015 it will also get a subway.
8. Vienna, Austria
Why? Our neighboring capital is famous around the world as a city of culture, beautiful architecture and, of course, the famous Sachertorte. Next year, Vienna is celebrating quite a few birthdays – including the 150th anniversary of the Ringstrasse.
7. Salisbury, Great Britain
Why? The British town with the famous Gothic cathedral and in the immediate vicinity of the mysterious Stonehenge will next year celebrate the 800th anniversary of one of the most important documents in English history, the Magna Carta. The anniversary will be celebrated with many events and festivals.

6. Plovdiv, Bulgaria
Why? Lonely Planet describes Plovdiv as one of the few European pearls that is not among the most famous. The city boasts the beautiful architecture of the old town (also from Roman times), which mixes with modern cultural influences and a varied nightlife.
5. Valletta, Malta
Why? Often underestimated, the Maltese capital is rich both architecturally and culturally. In 2015, Valletta will celebrate the 450th anniversary of the Great Siege of Malta, when the brave Knights of Malta fought the Turks.
4. Zermatt, Switzerland
Why? The Swiss town below the famous Matterhorn is ideal for all fans of winter sports. 2015 is the year for the residents to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the first ascent of the Matterhorn by the English alpinist Edward Whimper.
3. Milan, Italy
Why? In 2015, the fashion capital in our immediate vicinity, in addition to the annual fashion spectacles from May to October, will be the venue for the international exhibition Expo 2015, which has been the driving force behind creativity and innovation in all areas, from culture to cuisine.

Why? This still largely undiscovered part of Argentina boasts exceptional natural beauty: glaciers, waterfalls and lakes. The town (almost a village) will celebrate its 30th birthday next year.

Why? The American city with the famous trademark of the White House is considered a city of museums and culture. Next year, the only American museum dedicated to African-American culture will open in Washington: The National Museum of African-American History and Culture.
