After shoes and swimwear made from marine waste, Adidas also presents biodegradable shoes that are more environmentally friendly. Adidas Futurecraft Biofabric can thus be degraded in less than 36 hours after a special enzyme is added to it.
Shoes Adidas Futurecraft Biofabric are ultra-strong sneakers, made made of a special light material, named Biosteel (manufactured by biotech company AMSilk). The material that builds the upper part of the shoe is created with help the same proteins, which they use spiders in silk production.

So when we buy shoes, we will be able to decomposed with the help of special enzymes (except the sole, within a maximum of 36 hours), and the remains were washed down the drain.
Unfortunately, the sole of the new sneakers is not biodegradable. It is made of the same TPU plastics, as found in the UltraBoost sneaker. Nevertheless, with these shoes, we will pollute the environment significantly less (compared to normal shoes).
The shoes were presented by Adidas end of 2016, and should arrive on the shelves at the beginning of 2018.
