It's 2030 and this is Audi's vision of mobility. There are no more drivers, all vehicles are at the fifth-level autonomous level, which means completely independent driving. The car suddenly becomes a place for socializing, working and resting. So the journey looks like a flight on a Boeing 747. At the highest level, of course, in first class.
Audi's the concept is quite long as it measures more than 5 meters in length. It even has a longer wheelbase Audi A8. This is also why the interior space can be designed so differently. The vehicle seats are designed as residential furniture – single seats or comfortable recliners. They are rotatable, i.e. they can turn in the opposite direction of travel and thus create a place to stay and talk with other passengers. In the cabin, it is immediately clear that there is no room for the driver. This one a car will drive in all situations completely alone. And the driver will not be able to interfere with his driving. It's in the vehicle a multitude of screens, on which you will be able to see the playback of various information.
Audi's the vision is a bold and futuristic shift. Namely, if there is no human intervention and the car drives by itself, then it falls away a multitude of elements, which we are used to in classic vehicles. Which is already a little creepy. Admit it! So, for example, there is no need for classic headlights, as car sensors do all the work. The lights get completely different functions, they can illuminate objects on the road and people and follow them despite moving. Definitely a different experience. The lights can be used to communicate with other self-driving vehicles…
Audi Icon will be driven to all 4 wheels with four electric motors that together will produce around 350 horsepower. Audi says the Aicon will be able to travel at speed 130 km/h with a battery range of approx 700 kilometers.
Having said that, we can only look forward to the future!
