Ikea has joined forces with another big design name. This time it's Tom Dixon, a British industrial designer who, you won't believe it, is self-taught. His works can also be seen in the world's largest museums, and his field is lights, furniture and accessories. So what did Ikea and Dixon do together?
Modular bed and sofa set Delaktig it is supposed to be a piece of furniture for the future.
Because of its modularity, form and function beds can in time are changing. Dixon and IKEA they also invited the company to participate Bemz, which takes care of textile in the Ikea collections and will make accessories for the Delaktig bed. As an interesting fact, Dixon collaborated with the car to design the bed 75 students from the prestigious Royal College of Art and Parsons School of Design.
You will be able to turn the Delaktig bed into bunk bed, bed for the airport, v sofa set and, as Dixon says, basically anything you can use the bed for. The idea behind this project is to have as much furniture and accessories as possible at home in the future, which life span and their usefulness lasts as long as possible. The Delaktig collection will be available from February 9.
