Just a short time after Jaguar Land Rover announced the formation of a sports model division called Special Operations Division, they have now published the first photos and details of the super sports version of the F-type model. It will premiere at the end of this month at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in England.
It is a series version of the study of the same name presented last year, which is reminiscent of the current F-type model in design, but it is the most powerful version of this one so far. Project 7 is tasked with recalling the D-type model and Jaguar's successful history of involvement in Le Mans races, to which his name is directly related, signifying the number of victories Jaguar achieved in this legendary race.
It is in this spirit that the engineers intended for him 5.0 liter V8, whose power was increased to 417 kW or 567 hp, and the transmission of such power to the rear wheel pair is ensured by an eight-speed automatic transmission. The package also includes a more powerful chassis and suspension, an even sportier exhaust system, ceramic brakes, aero body kit and distinctive white competition decals.
Acceleration of this 1,585 kilogram two-seater to the first hundred it takes 3.9 seconds, and the speedometer stops at 300 km/h. The serial version of project 7 can also be distinguished by 20-inch rims, brake calipers dressed in yellow and, last but not least, two seats (instead of one racing seat and space for a helmet in the color of the car).
Series production should include limited edition of 250 copies, and prices on the British market are expected to start at 135 thousand pounds in the middle of next year, when the first deliveries to customers will begin, or 170 thousand euros. Without taxes to the state, of course.
