Matt Damon has swapped the melee weapon he wielded as Jason Bourne for a bow in this big-budget film as he plays a soldier in ancient China. It is not a historically accurate film, because the nearly nine thousand meter long Great Wall of China does not protect people from invasions by Mongol and Hun tribes, but rather from evil omens. The giant of Chinese cinema, Zhang Yimou, waved the director's baton over the film.
