Lexus NX – the smaller Lexus crossover tasted Slovenian asphalt for the first time

Lexus wants more European buyers, which is why they are venturing into ever new segments, this time the medium SUV segment. In this regard, the new NX, which convinces with its pleasing image, sedan comfort, hybrid drive and, last but not least, a favorable price, should mix future competitors such as the X3, Q3, GLK and Evoque.

Lexus NX has practically not changed since the last design study, which is commendable, but above all it means a very mod(er) exterior image with a lot of sportsmanship, which is joined internally by a concrete measure limousine comfort, filigree precision in materials and joints and plenty of (technical) equipment.

You will recognize the NX from the outside by the now characteristically L-shaped design LEDs, whose same letter is also imitated by the main lights, which in the better equipped versions shine only in LED technology. The same applies to the fog lights, which in addition to shining into a bend, also greet passengers upon arrival illuminated door handles.

Like the outside, the inside also has quite a few similarities with the one presented just under a year ago Lexus IS, with which the NX shares the appearance of the dashboard and the center console, of course there are certain differences in the purpose of the suv, but the motive is mainly the same or at least similar in power. Getting in and sitting down is convenient and easy for Suvs, compared to the previously mentioned model, visibility to the back and to the sides is also expected to be better.

Passengers are greeted upon entry aluminum thresholds, which can also be illuminated, and the seats can be upholstered in a typical Lexus supple leather, which, at the customer's request, also becomes two-tone. In terms of space, it offers a similar amount of centimeters as the IS, except that in the second row, the feeling is more airy and correspondingly more spacious.

Trunk but it also offers a concrete measure of space, because with "basic" 555 liters it swallows quite a few bags of golf clubs, while also resting electric folding seats in the second row (standard on better equipped versions). In terms of equipment, there is a real sea of equipment packages available, namely seven, and even the basic finesse brings 17-inch alloy wheels, LED daytime running lights, a reversing camera and much more. The 2,000-euro more expensive Comfort is even closer to the bigger wheels, LED fog lights, smart key, etc., another 2,200 euros more expensive business parking aids front and rear, full LED lights and heated front seats. If even this is not enough, you can reach for more executive package (at least 46,900 euros), which adds leather to everything. For those who are more sporty, there are also dynamic equipment upgrades in the form of the F-sport (from 50,900 onwards) and F-sport premium (at least 54,900) packages, which are richer even for the standard AWD drive E-Four, and absolute prestige means a package luxury, for which the importer wants 55,900 euros.

From the side, it can be seen that the designers had a free hand to make an extremely dynamic mid-size SUV, with which they want to turn a new leaf at Lexus together with the IS model in the form of greater market successes (also in our country).

There are no major surprises in the engine range, as only one version is available on this side of the Alps 300h, which means 2.5 liter atmospheric gas engine, which is assisted by the electric motor for greater acceleration, and together the drivetrain develops the most 145 kW or 197 hp, at the same time, it offers a record low emission level of 116 grams of CO2. The gearbox is always a stepless CVT automatic, the performance of which has been improved, and it is also available for the first time AVS adaptive suspension. In the case of the four-wheel drive E-Four, it comes to the rear axle another electric motor, which then, if necessary, redirects part of the powertrain's torque to the rear wheel pair, but the total power does not change. The vehicle is so mere virtual dry, as four-wheel drive is more basic type and also with it The NX is not an over-climber, nor does it want to be.

For now, only the hybrid version is available in our country, but due to low emissions and consequent environmental duties, it is eight thousand cheaper than the 200t version, so the latter, although it is offered by the importer, is not even advertised.

In advanced tenhika, however, it is worth mentioning radar cruise control, which operates at all speeds until the vehicle comes to a complete stop, color head-up display with even more data display functions, achieved with the help of four cameras "birds eye" view over what is happening around the vehicle, touch pad RTI, on the other hand, got a simpler handling. As the first Lexus model, it also has wireless mobile phone charging system, which requires your device to have QI technology to function.

Prices start at 39,900 and end at 55,900 euros, of course, there is also a list of surcharges on which we can also find Mark Levinson audio system with 7.1 channel sound through 14 speakers. If anyone would like, they can also buy the z version 2.0-liter gasoline turbo engine, which is the basis eight thousand more expensive, and the waiting period ranges from a few days to three months, where ordering the latter definitely means that it will be close to the latter.
