Do you know when Liffe 2016 starts? The Ljubljana International Film Festival returns to the capital for the 27th time between November 9 and 20, 2016, when it will serve up a new series of feature films, short films and other treats of the seventh art, such as discussions with festival guests and filmmakers, as well as round tables and workshops . Tickets for Liffe 2016 will go on sale on October 18, 2016. Liffe will now be playing in Ljubljana and Maribor as well as in Celje and Novi Mesto. Check out what he has in store for us this year.
Liffe 2016 will be on the program from 9 to 20 November 2016, tickets for already 27th Ljubljana International Film Festival and they go on presale October 18, 2016, when the list of guest films and the rest will be known program. Liffe returns to the scene of the crime, as this is how it will unfold in Linhart's and Kosovel's hall of Cankarjev dom, as in Kinodvor, Šiška Cinema, Komuna Cinema, Slovenian Cinematheque as in the Maribor Coliseum, and will also host at two new locations, namely in the Metropol Cinema in Celje and the Anton Podbevšek Theater in Novi Mesto. The central festival center will be the Second Lobby of Cankarjev dom.
Liffe 2016 will offer various festival sets, namely previews, Kings and Queens, i.e. works by recognizable and award-winning masters of contemporary cinema, Perspectives, i.e. competition group of young directors, Panorama of world cinema (festival favorites from five continents), Extravagance, this midnight cinema that brings diverse, bolder and more titillating content, Cinema balloon (for viewers from 7 to 14 years of age), Europe in brief, i.e. short film competition program, Consecrated, which will host the Polish director Jerzy Skolimowski (this year's recipient of the Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement at the Venice Festival), and Retrospective, which is a cross-section of a historically important filmmaker or a thematic retrospective.

It will also be colorful companion program. Liffe 2016 is also promising conversations with festival guests and filmmakers, as well as round tables and workshops. Of the prizes will be awarded a waterman (Kingfisher), i.e. award for the director of the best film (Perspectives), audience award (the best-rated film as chosen by the audience, who will cast their votes after the screenings on ballots upon leaving the hall or via mobile phones), FIPRESCI award, i.e. award of the international jury of the world association of film critics and journalists, and award for the best short film.
