At Mercedes-Benz, in the desire for even greater market success, the CLA limousine coupe has now been given a dynamic station wagon rear. The surcharge of 610 euros means 495 liters of luggage space, or 25 more than in the sedan. With prices starting at 28,260, it is a concrete 4,800 euros cheaper than the otherwise more elegant, but much less sporty wagon version of the C-class.

One such is the (if only) slightly larger basic trunk CLA shooting brakea, which in measure 495 liters it surpasses that of the station wagon C by five, but it is true that the scale again tilts in its favor when the seats are folded down. In this regard, the CLA SB offers 1,354-, or 156 liters less than at class CT. Another matter where the CLA shooting brake surpasses its previously mentioned brother is the price, because they are bad 4,700 euros cheaper and thus more accessible.

However, it offers the Mercedes-Benz CLA shooting brake for this inappropriately more sportiness and also a touch of typical elegance for models with a three-pointed star on the nose, which is not lacking in the C. So it is clear that with the CLA aim at younger audience in the form of young individuals and families who also like to show off their dynamic style through the car, but at the same time need more usable space for their lifestyle.

The front part of the vehicle is practically identical to that of the limousine coupe, but when viewed from the side, the roof starts to fall a bit later and more gently towards the rear from the B-pillar onwards, and later flows into the wagon's pointed rear. In many ways, this one resembles the rear of the CLA, but it even seems a little more coherent and happier than it. Even at the rear, the sports tradition is clearly visible and tangible, which is not least what they take care of (at least) two separate exhaust pipes of larger diameter, edged with chrome, the motif of which continues also on the horizontal chrome border of the lower part of the bumper, which connects them.

The interior is, as expected, almost identical to the CLA, except for the second row seating, where it is above the heads of the passengers for 4.2 cm more space. As for the rest, both equipment packages and accessories, the CLA is the identical brother of the sedan coupe, which basically means that there are five basic equipment packages to choose from: basic no-name, urban, AMG line, sport and special orange line. With the latter, as the name suggests, the emphasis is on orange accessories, including rims on the rims. But the Mercedes-Benz CLA shooting brake also brought some improvements to both versions, in terms of shape of the city AEB system, which now not only warns of the danger of a collision but is also able to brake, the car automatically switches off the passenger's airbag if it detects that there is a child seat on it, etc. The most noticeable change inside is the central screen of the infotainment system, which diagonal she stretched out on 17.8 cm. Ambient lighting now offers 12 color shades.

As with the equipment packages, the list of engines is identical to the CLA's, which means that there is always a four-cylinder heart beating under the hood, and there is a choice of four petrol units with a range of power from 90 to 265 kW, and on the diesel side there are two engines with 100 and 130 kW respectively. It is available with both diesels and the two most powerful gasoline engines four-wheel drive 4matic (in the case of the CLA 45 AMG, this is even standard), and the most powerful drive options on both poles are also added as standard automatic transmission, which at AMG once again offers even more sportiness and faster passing.

Prices start at 28,260 euros, as far as is to be deducted for CLA 180, for the diesel heart and the least in the nose 33,180 euros. This means that the CLA is a shooting brake from the comparable CT class cheaper by almost 4,800 euros, which is a good traveller, given the CLA's dynamic image and vehicle image. Compared to the sedan coupe, however, it means price markup (just) 610 euros, which, considering the greater degree of usability, is definitely a bargain.
