The Armani fashion house celebrated its 40th anniversary with the opening of a special Armani/Silos museum, at the Milan Expo 2015. Fashion giant Giorgio Armani, in addition to many well-deserved successes, is also considered a pioneer of red carpet fashion.
The name Silos is related to the theme "Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life", i.e. to the problem of food shortage and storage. 80-year-old Giorgio Armani explained, among other things, that the name Silos it also relates to food, which was once stored in the very premises where the exhibition is now located, and as he himself said, food is just as important to him as fashion. The building, with its own 4,500 square meters exhibition area, is located on the site of the former warehouse of one of the multinationals.
He himself followed the restructuring of the building Armani, so now we can clearly see the result of order and discipline in sober architecture and monumental forms, which rationally respond to functional requirements. The exhibition includes 600 dresses and 200 fashion accessories different Armani collections since 1980 until today. The course of the exhibition does not follow one another chronologically, but according to themes that followed the evolution of the aesthetic language of this top fashion house. After seeing this exhibition, it will probably be crystal clear to us why the Italians call their fashion giant just King Giorgio.
