What Rihanna is doing on the Billboard singles chart, Pebble is doing on the Kickstarter platform. Every smartwatch created by this Californian brand becomes a big hit and achieves incredible sales results! She went to the crowdfunding platform for the third time, this time with a trio of products, and instantly exceeded the financial goal, i.e. one million dollars, which she literally begged, if we're being a bit graphic. What is she used to? Their previous campaign for the Pebble Time smart watch still holds the speed record of "on" a million US dollars raised, and the Pebble 2 and Pebble Time 2 and Pebble Core smart watches that are being introduced now, Kickstarter predicts a bright future.
New devices that Pebble offers on Kickstarter (they went there for the first time in 2012), Pebble 2, Pebble Time 2 and Pebble Core, offer a bunch of novelties that call for replacing our current device or they are twisting our arm so that we will finally surrender wearable technology. In three days, the project collected almost eight million US dollars. But enough about the Kickstarter numbers. Above all, you are interested in what caused such euphoria, which the Apple Watch and Samsung Gear S2 smartwatches can only wish for. Affordable price? Also. But there are many other things.
Pebble 2 smartwatches (you can pre-order it for 90 euros) and Pebble Time 2 (159 euros, stainless steel case) have a treat: heart rate monitor, which is a welcome upgrade, as previous watches only offered basic communication and receiving notifications. With this, Pebble also wants to position itself in the segment wearable fitness devices, where Fitbit reigns supreme, having sold as many as 4.8 million smart bracelets in the first quarter of 2016. Among other things, they also enable activity review and completing tasks with just one click.

The third rookie, Pebble Core, is quite different from the first two. Not only is it neither a fitness device nor a communication tool, it's not even a smart watch! It is a compact device or a tiny Android 5.0 computer with GPS technology (synchronises with Runkeeper, Strava and Under Armor Record applications), intended for runners, which measures kilometers traveled and allows playing music from Spotify. With some programming knowledge, you can also use it to turn on the lights, send an SOS, unlock the car... Watches will be available September 2016, and the Pebble Core (60 euros) will have to wait a little longer, until January 2017.
