Sitting is the new smoking, many say, and it is undoubtedly true that we are much more proactive and full of energy when standing. Three New Zealanders have raised money on Kickstarter for the Refold project, folding cardboard tables that are 100% natural, 100% portable and 100% something we've never seen before.
Fraser Callaway, Oliver Ward and Matt Innes are three young New Zealand creatives who have on Kickstarter in a short time, they achieved what many start-up entrepreneurs dream of day and night: they collected the planned 25,000 dollars for their innovative idea, folding tables made of cardboard under the name Refold.

The tables are made from several layers of seven millimeter cardboard, which makes them completely natural and degradable. Theirs environmental awareness but that's not the only thing Refold computer desks boast. What makes them incredibly useful is the fact that they are foldable and therefore extremely practical. Their weight is only 6.5 kilograms, so they can be portable, and the table can be set up without glue in less than two minutes. Nevertheless, they are no less durable than ordinary tables, as they can even withstand the weight of one person.
New Zealand designers have taken care of simple yet effective design, but they didn't even forget that we are people of different shapes and sizes, because we can order a table in three sizes: small, medium or large. The folding table made of cardboard is perfect for equipping pop-up shops, creative studios, schools, offices or any other space where people share a love of creativity, design and, of course, the environment.
Another nice feature of the Refold tables is that its designers actively support schoolchildren in need, as they are their own Kickstarter project associated with Unicef New Zealand. They also appreciate art: we will be able to order our own table painted with paintings young New Zealand artists.
