Sonia Singh has no plans to become a baby doll manufacturer anytime soon, although her fans would love to see it happen. Namely, Sonia transforms Bratz dolls, known for their strong facial features and make-up faces, into dolls that exist everywhere in the world - down-to-earth dolls, simple and nothing like they just visited a plastic surgeon. Meet the Tree Change Dolls.
Sonia Singh from Australia, specifically Tasmania, makes the so-called Tree Change Dolls. These are processed Bratz dolls, which he saves from "second-hand" stores. Theirs it replaces an overly made-up face with an everyday face, he does the same with their clothes and shoes. With the help of acetone, she cleans the faces and draws new ones, more friendly and human, designs new shoes, and clothes are sewn and knitted by her mother. Her love for dolls dates back to her childhood, when she and her sister played with used dolls and homemade toys. Sonia absolutely loves the satisfaction she gets from repairing and reusing used items.
When she appeared with the dolls at Tumblr, sold out all the dolls within a month and became a viral hit. Inundated with requests for new dolls, the 34-year-old mother decided to create new dolls again. A new series is coming to the online store Etsy again in March. The price is for a doll from around 51 euros to 113 euros.
