With the 8th Gibanica between March 8 and 11, Ljubljana will once again be the epicenter of contemporary Slovenian dance creativity. This is the most important contemporary dance platform in our country, where the local public has the opportunity to get an overview of the quality of two years of dance creativity, and the artists to reflect on the quality of domestic dance creativity.
Since 2003 A hunchback, biennale of contemporary dance art, represents Slovenian contemporary dance production, which is always chosen for the festival by a three-member selection team. Gibanica offers a range of the best contemporary dance products from local producers and is considered a the most important contemporary dance platform with us. It is a mixture of a national dance festival, where the local public has the opportunity to gain an overview of the quality of two years of dance creativity, and artists to reflect on the quality of domestic dance creativity.

This time three members international selection team consist of: Eddie Nixon (The Place, London), Angela Glechner (Szene, Salzburg) and Suzana Koncut (Ljubljana). Among the 44 received applications, the commission chose nine performances, which will compete for the award as selected by an expert jury and as selected by the audience.
