This year marks the 400th anniversary of the death of the greatest English playwright, William Shakespeare. On this occasion, SNG Drama Ljubljana prepared a festival called Živel Shakespeare!, whose cultural events will take place from April 17 to 23, 2016, on the Great Drama Stage, in the Little Drama and in the Drama Cafe.
Festival Long Live Shakespeare!, with which they will be in SNG Drama Ljubljana will honor the 400th anniversary of the death of William Shakespeare, an extremely recognized and respected writer and theater actor during his lifetime, with a performance Hamlet Globe to Globe opened the London Shakespeare's Globe, which has been touring the world for two years and for which Shakespeare himself wrote more than four centuries ago.
On Monday, April 18, 2016, visitors will be able to see the restored Shakespeare play on the Great Stage The Merchant of Venice, a work directed by Eduard Miller. On April 19 and 21, all theater enthusiasts will be able to enjoy the legendary monodrama Hamlet with Robert Korošec in the title role and Daniel Dayjaj Škufca in the direction.

In addition to the performances, they will also perform during the festival of the event within the Social and Social cycle, which will be in the Drama cafe. Wednesday, April 20 will be a talk about Shakespeare's life and work, and Friday, April 22, you will be able to take part in a talk called What Would Shakespeare Think of Us?
On Saturday, April 23, the festival event will be rounded off with the premiere of Shakespeare's classic - a tragedy Macbeth, which will be staged under the direction of Igor Pison.
