Ek bistro is located away from the biggest hustle and bustle of Ljubljana and with a view of the Ljubljanica, on the corner of Petkovškovo nabrežje and Usnjarska ulica. The new restaurant next to Žitne most focuses on offering breakfast and brunch dishes, which are also suitable for lunch.

"We wanted to create a place where they would friends and good tastes. A space where visitors will relive existing memories while eating and create pleasant new ones. They are our basic guidelines delicacy and hospitality: we believe in cooking with emotions, which in our opinion create good taste," says the manager of the bistro Sašo Kralj.
The menu includes, among other things, "French melt", a sandwich with onions, roasted mushrooms and Grojer cheese, and blueberry smoothie with miso. For preparing egg dishes such as Eggs Benedict, Eggs Florentine and Eggs Royale, they use organic eggs, they prepare and bake every morning cinnamon rolls and brioche, which are served with homemade jam.

The concept of the offer was also the starting point for the architectural design of the bistro, which is the work of the Ljubljana studio Dekleva Gregorič architects. This followed the principle of 'revealing rather than concealing', i.e. interfering as little as possible with the existing character of the space and thus to preserve its originality. Such guidance is reflected in the materials used – iron, corten, wood, marble, granite and copper. The peculiarity of the design is display wall with black brackets and bowls, which support the essence of Eka cuisine: selected ingredients and dishes and products for home.
