Why him? (Why Him?) is an offbeat comedy about an overprotective father (Bryan Cranston) who disapproves of his daughter's boyfriend (Zoey Deutch and James Franco), which is every father's nightmare. When a daughter grows up, every father thinks that no boy will be good enough for her. But while any father would be happy in principle to see his daughter marry a tech millionaire, Ned is convinced that the laid-back Laird is anything but good marriage material and that his daughter deserves a better match.
Why him? (Why Him?) is a comedy in which they appear James Franco (Laird) and Bryan Cranston (Ned), who are a similarly odd couple as Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul in the TV series The wrong way.
In both cases, Cranston rolls his eyes at the childishness, indifference and lack of education of his younger acting colleagues, but fate brings them together and holds them together like the strongest glue. In Krivi poteh it was a drug deal, in the film Why exactly him? well daughter Stephanie (Zoey Deutch), which is up to the ears in love with an eccentric Silicon Valley millionaire without filter or no hair on the tongue, whom Ned meets when he and the rest of the family visit his daughter during the holidays at Stanford. Things get even more complicated when Laird asks Ned for his blessing, and he thinks you are his daughter from the very beginning he deserves a better party, so he tries to secretly end their relationship earlier.
But in the meantime, the straightforward Laird is already winning over the rest of the family. Although Ned finds himself in a technological nest like a fish out of water, is not possible, so one-sided follows a clash of values and beliefs.
