You've probably already heard that sitting too much is bad for your health. The matter is far from innocent, and some experts even go so far as to call sitting the new smoking. Humans were not created to sit, but to move. And the more we sit, regardless of the amount of weekly exercise, the worse it is for our health. Sitting increases the possibility of diabetes, cancer, heart disease and depression. On average, people sit for 64 hours a week, but we only stand for 28 hours, and 11 hours are spent walking, which is definitely not a healthy ratio.
Sitting for a few minutes doesn't hurt, but prolonged sitting, which in many cases is also connected with incorrect posture, can lead to the development of chronic diseases and spinal injuries. And even though you're active and think you're doing enough for your body, it cannot undo the consequences prolonged sitting, which is largely related to sitting in front of a computer.
Office workers daily they sit for up to nine hours, which is an extremely bad habit or vice. Sitting is a lot insidious "disease" and if we don't change something in this area and limit the friendship between the butt and the seat, we know how to pay a very high price for this one day. So let's act while we can, because when we have to health issued its bill, it will be too late.
