In life, we encounter different views of people on what is right and what is wrong. We hear some things so often that we even start to believe them. What is hidden behind these (un)truths that they want to convince us of?
See the world through your own eyes and don't hide behind the opinions of others. Believe in yourself, in your decisions, in your view of the world. Create your own life truths!
Here are 10 life lies you should stop believing.
Lie #1: Being alone means being lonely
Being single doesn't always mean being lonely, just like being in a relationship doesn't always mean being happy. When a person is alone, he will never feel as lonely as he can feel when he is in the wrong relationship.
If you feel that something is wrong, stop and spend some time with the most important person in your life - yourself. Find your meaning. Learn to appreciate your worth. When you respect yourself, you will know how to set healthy boundaries. And if the relationship you are in is toxic, you will find the strength within yourself to get out of it.
Lie #2: Happiness comes when you have everything you want
Being happy doesn't mean you don't want more in life. It means being grateful for what you have and patiently waiting for what's yet to come. Sometimes you try to reach big distant goals by all means, so that you don't notice the little things around you that make life magical. Stop and live each moment and appreciate it.
Lie #3: Pain is something you can see
No way. Never underestimate anyone's pain because every person in this world is fighting their own battle and dealing with problems. Some people are just better at hiding them than others. You never know what goes on behind closed doors. Judging others is an unnecessary waste of time and energy. If you have time for such things, you have too much free time. Do something for yourself instead.
Lie 4: Life must be lived a certain way
You create your own response to situations. Your thoughts can be your worst enemy. Free yourself from the assumptions of what your life should be and accept the real life trying to find its way into your consciousness. Change what you can change and let go of what you can't. Life will be easier and happier.
Lie 5: You have to behave in a certain way
When you stop comparing yourself to other versions of yourself—real or imagined—and when you stop comparing yourself to other people, you will taste a peace that is real, not imaginary.
Lie 6: Few can have a wonderful life
If you wake up every morning and say "Today will be a wonderful day" and if you find a reason to say every afternoon "Today is a wonderful day", then even in the evening you will find a reason to say "Today was a wonderful day".
Lie 7: Hard times are unnecessary
Sometimes things have to go wrong before they go right. Sometimes you have to let the wrong people out so the right ones can come in. Sometimes you have to feel weak to know what it's really like to be strong. Sometimes you have to feel a little broken to realize that you will never be completely broken. Sometimes you have to meet a lot of people you like before you meet the person you love. Sometimes you have to recognize the good in the bad and know that this is a valuable life lesson.
Lie 8: Being strong means not feeling pain
In reality, the strongest people are those who feel pain. Accept the pain, learn from it, and get over it. Wake up, shake off the dust of the past and get back on your path in peace, stronger and more confident than ever before.
Lie 9: You can always pretend
Feel the love before you say it "I love you". Feel gratitude before you say "thank you". Be sorry before you say "I'm sorry". Feel the forgiveness and freedom within you before you say "I forgive you". When you feel all this, you need less words to have a good relationship with this person.
Lie 10: Dreaming is a waste of time
The greatest gift is the one that is invisible to the eyes, but deeply felt by the heart. What we can see is usually only a fraction of everything. Imagination is the vision that allows us to see what is beneath the surface, to see what is important and invisible to the eye. Make your dreams big enough to realize your dreams and a great future.
