"Solitude offers us a unique opportunity to recognize our true voice in inner silence. A voice that comforts, heals and encourages us to make important life changes." - Unknown author
They are people who love the time they spend with themselves. For them, solitude is something they need. And while others are excited about the idea of going out drinking and dancing the night away, they'll prefer to watch TV or read a book in the comfort, silence and safety of their own home, huddled under a blanket. Are you like that too?
1. A rainy day spent in the embrace of home is perfection
You are sitting by the window, the raindrops are sliding down the window, the wind is blowing and turning back and forth in the streets. You are warm, dry and feel comfortable with a cup of hot tea in your hands. You have a pillow and blanket next to you to wrap yourself under. Can you imagine anything better? No responsibilities, no one to bother you and nothing else. There is only you. You watch the world go by and relax to the music of raindrops. For those who like to spend time alone, this is heaven on earth.
2. You need time for yourself
Relationships are a wonderful thing, but in order for them to be successful, you both need to take time for yourself every once in a while. The time each partner needs. The time you spend apart. Each in their own way, with which they feel filled and satisfied again.
Communication with other people can stall at times, no matter who they are and how much you love them. Sometimes you just need a way to get away from it all and be completely alone. With your thoughts, your expectations, with your melody.
3. You need time to regenerate
Do you ever have that feeling when you have to cancel all plans because you just can't take it anymore? Are you drained, need time to recover and your own needs come first? There are few people to whom you can tell this, so you sometimes use various excuses, for example: "I have stomach problems."
4. A full day of independent battery charging
What do you need to do to feel recharged and well rested? For some people, it's talking to people and enjoying extensive social interaction. If you are different, then you need a whole day to yourself without doing anything - a completely empty schedule. Whatever happens, happens!
5. You usually listen more than you speak
You tend to be on the quieter side, especially when you're around people you don't know very well. You listen a lot more than you talk, which means people are always telling you what a great listener you are. Many people listen but don't even pay attention to what the other person is saying. They are just waiting for their turn!
6. Observing people's behavior
Being more socially withdrawn than most people means you tend to notice things better than others. You are perceptive because you spend a lot of time watching, listening, and making mental notes about the things you witness. You can learn a lot about other people because you are much more able to absorb information about others because you are not focused on talking about yourself.
7. Thinking about important issues in life
All this time to yourself means you spend a lot of time thinking about yourself and the world. You wonder about the meaning of life, the reasons why things are the way they are, and how you fit into it all. You sit and observe the world around you, thinking in silence about the mysteries of the universe. Priceless.
8. That feeling when someone cancels plans you didn't like
You were ready to go there, but you wanted nothing more than to be able to skip the event you were invited to. We'd rather be alone. And then the case is dismissed. You feel as if you have been set free. You can breathe the air of freedom again and enjoy life your way, at least for the moment.
9. Vacation sounds like heaven, just imagine…
You eat alone every night at the places you want to go. You do exactly what you want to do every day without the responsibility to consider the wants or needs of others. It might sound bad to some, but it's perfect for you.
10. You read in the embrace of silence
Reading a book, watching a movie or show, listening to music, etc. are much more fun activities for you than trips, bars, clubs and social gatherings.
11. Spending time with your pets
Animals can often be better company than humans at times. They don't judge or talk about themselves or ask for anything other than your love, company, food, snuggle next to you and sleep. They are perfect companions.
