The death of Swedish DJ, 29-year-old Tim Bergling, better known by his stage name Avicii, shook the world. The world-famous musician has created several electronic hits in his career, among them Levels, Wake Me Up and Hey Brother stand out. And here are some interesting facts you probably didn't know about the truly untimely DJ.
1. He co-founded a charity House for Hunger. In 2012, the organization raised awareness about world hunger and donated $1 million to the nonprofit organization Feeding America.
2. He was the first DJ that was headliner at Radio City Music Hall. His performance was on September 26, 2012.
3. His last album Avīci (01) received nomination for Best Dance/Electronic Album for this year's Billboard Music Awards. Prizes will be awarded on May 20.
4. He chose his stage name based on a friend's recommendation, whom he trusted Avīci means the lowest level in Buddhist hell. Tim then added another i to the name, as Avici's name was already taken on MySpace.
5. It is co-writer and co-producer of A Sky Full of Stars by Coldplay. He is also the co-producer of their track Hymn for the Weekend.
6. His first big hit was a song Levels, which was published in 2011.
7. When he reached two and three million fans on his Facebook page, two tracks were released Two Million and Three Million.
8. In 2013, he was nominated for grammy for best dance song for the track Levels.
