When we talk about automotive luxury, Lexus is a name that comes to mind as quickly as Bugatti or Rolls Royce. However, while the latter emphasize their elitism with astronomical price tags, Lexus focuses on providing luxury that is not limited to those with fat wallets. And the latest 2024 Lexus IS is no exception.
Lexus has once again proven with the 2024 IS model that luxury and affordable prices can go hand in hand. This compact luxury sedan will be available for purchase this fall, with a starting price of $41,235 (€35,200) for the IS 300 model, $44,410 (€37,900) for the IS 350 F Sport Design and $60,020 (€51,200) for the IS 500 F Sport Performance.
The new Lexus IS brings some fresh design updates, which include a new Blackout package for the IS 350 F Sport model, which brings 19-inch matte black BBS wheels, dark chrome exterior and black side mirrors. The IS 300 version has become sportier with the additional optional F Sport design, which includes 19-inch alloy wheels and a unique exterior badge. Under the hood is a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine with 241 hp (178 kW), mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission and standard rear-wheel drive (RWD). All-wheel drive (AWD) versions are equipped with a 3.5-liter V-6 engine producing 260 hp (194 kW).
The 2024 Lexus IS continues with existing technology features, including an 8-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Amazon Alexa, two USB ports, satellite radio, a 10-speaker audio system, dual-zone climate control, and steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters. In terms of driver assistance features, every Lexus IS 2024 includes the Lexus Safety System Plus 2.5, which includes Blind Spot Monitoring, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Adaptive Cruise Control, Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian and Cyclist Detection, and Lane Keeping Assist.
With the new IS, Lexus has managed to maintain its commitment to quality and luxury while offering something fresh for those looking for sporty elegance and performance at an affordable price. With a wide range of prices and equipment, the new Lexus IS is a vehicle that more car enthusiasts can afford without compromising their bank account.
What else can we expect from Lexus in the future? Well, rumors are swirling that the IS could be replaced by a battery electric model in 2025, which shows that Lexus is staying one step ahead of the competition when it comes to innovation and sustainable solutions.
