Wicked - Part 1 (November)


The film "Wicked part 1", which is announced for the November premiere in 2024, is already surrounded by great expectations. Based on Gregory Maguire's novel Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West and the popular Broadway musical, the story follows the adventures of Elphaba, a green-skinned young woman who eventually becomes the Wicked Witch of the West. The production of the film had a long and complicated history. After several delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic and other logistical challenges, filming finally began in England under the direction of Jon M. Chua. In addition to the main stars already mentioned, the film also includes Jonathan Bailey as Fiyer, Jeff Goldblum as The Wizard of Oz and Michelle Yeoh as Madame Morrible. The peculiarity of the film is its division into two parts, which director Chu explained as necessary to maintain the depth and complexity of the story. This means that for the first time, “Wicked” will be presented in its entirety in two films, giving viewers a more in-depth journey through the magical world of Oz.
