Advertising usually does not conform to very high moral standards, but looking at old ads from the first half of the last century, we can be downright shocked.
Looking at a collection of offensive, sexist and racist ads, we don't know whether to laugh or cry. On top of that, the ads were also full of lies, which probably still happens today. Interestingly, the first ad to use sexual innuendo to increase sales was created by a woman for a soap brand.
