Today, ski resorts are branched conglomerates of a wide variety of facilities, services and offers. We surrounded them with luxury apartments, with expensive but often mediocre restaurants, covered them with webcams and chalets reminiscent of the hideouts of James Bond villains ... And worst of all, we allowed the prices of ski passes to skyrocket sky high, at an extortionate 100 euros a day.
But we can still experience this modern infrastructure on the other side fresh air, blue sky, gliding on a crystalline snow surface, jumping into fluffy snow when we momentarily lose the ground under our feet, conversations that can only happen on a chairlift, among the frozen trees, somewhere among the clouds... This makes it simply worth going through all the logistics and crowds. The sun may be obscured by clouds, the wind may be relentless... But none of that matters as long as we are comfortable and in good company. These are the little joys of each of us who really enjoy the white slopes, whether on a board, on touring skis, on a sled...
