The kings of noise A Place To Bury Strangers are coming to Ljubljana. The New York trio proves that st-punk and new wave are far from dead and buried.
They started their journey more than a decade ago. Since then, they have been delighting with their music and reminding some listeners of the band Suicide with The Stooges. Some of their songs resemble non-commercial pop masterpieces, which is not surprising, since Strangers are big admirers of the Scottish Jesus And Mary Chain. This year they released a small album Strange Moon – A Tribute To Dead Moon. With original arrangements by Dead Moon, they directed us to their garage roots. He will sing and entertain us with his guitar Oliver Ackermann, Dion Lunadon on bass and Robbie Gonzalez on the drums. At the October performance in Ljubljana, a completely fresh and limited vinyl record with the title will be available A Place To Bury Strangers Loud And Live In 2012. We will be warmed up by Bambara, a rock band from Georgia. The trio released their debut album Dreamviolence this year, and their morbid industrial sound is described as noise-gaze or a kind of hardcore "soundtrack" for David Lynch films.
