In autumn, the trees are dressed in a vivid palette of colors, so hiking is the most picturesque at this time, especially if it is accompanied by a beautiful autumn sun. At the end of a successful climb, you can refresh yourself in one of the huts or even spend the night there.
The mountain huts in the highlands close their doors in October, while the lower-lying huts have switched to a shortened autumn-winter season. Autumn visits to the mountains should be adapted to this, while at the same time paying attention to much more capricious autumn weather and even snow in some places. Bled cottage on Lipanka
The cabin on the scenic Lipanci mountain can (with additional accommodation) accommodate up to 53 people, who can choose between shared beds and two rooms with two beds and three with four beds. Toilets are in the basement, but unfortunately for mountaineers, showers are not possible, so take something for personal hygiene with you. The caretakers kindly serve you home-made delicacies, and in the morning you wake up to a beautiful view of the Pokljuka forests and the hills above them. You can upgrade your hiking plan by visiting one of the nearby peaks, from Lipansko peak to Viševnik.
Mountain home Tamar in Julijce
The home, open all year round, has 31 beds in 12 rooms, and 20 beds in two common beds. There are sanitary facilities and showers with hot and cold water within the home. All rooms are heated by stoves, so you won't be cold even in winter. Planica, one of the most picturesque alpine valleys, does not disappoint, as it offers a beautiful view of the surrounding peaks. On the slopes of Slemenova špica and all the way to the mighty slopes of Velika Mojstrovka, Travnik and Šit and the beautiful rocky peak of Jalovac.
Valvasor's home under Stol in Karavanke
The home below the highest peak of the Karavanki – Stolom is located on the terrace of the southern slope of Belščica. The home has been completely renovated and offers tastefully furnished bedrooms and bathrooms, it is also centrally heated, while two rooms are also heated by a farmhouse stove. It can accommodate up to 47 people, and on each floor you will find toilets with showers (hot water). Valvasor's home is also an excellent starting point for further trips, you can also go to Stol or to the archaeological site of Ajdna.
