It is not over the wonderful views that reward us at the very top, after a long climb. Many paths offer breathtaking views even while walking. Let's take a look at the three most beautiful hiking trails in Slovenia.

Hiking is always more popular in Slovenia. And the reason for this is certainly the wonderful mountains in our country. Add these three to your list this year, as they are considered the most beautiful hiking trails in Slovenia.

Košuta ridge

The wonderful ridge, which in dry weather is also extremely popular among mountain runners, descends dangerously and steeply towards the Austrian side. Due to its height, quite a few peaks of the ridge are located above 2000 meters, allowing beautiful views of the surrounding peaks. The ridge itself is ten kilometers long, and the most popular part is the part from Veliki vrh to Veliki Kladivo. The starting point for visiting the Košuta ridge is Kofce or one of the mountains (Šija, Pungrat,...).

Krn

The Krnska Group occupies the extreme southwestern end of the Julian Alps, surrounded on all sides by the valleys of the Soča River and its tributaries. According to many, the most beautiful route to Krn is the one that takes you past Lake Krn. You start the ascent at Dom v Lepena, and the ascent itself requires as much as five hours of walking and offers wonderful views of the peaks of the Julian Alps. Krn rises 2,244 m above sea level, and at the top you can refresh yourself in the Gomišček shelter, which is located a few tens of meters below the summit.

Czech cottage in Spodnje Ravne

Beneath the northern wall of Grintovec, the Česká koča na Spodnje Ravne invites you, the oldest preserved original cottage in our country. Already from the path and from the top, you can see the ridge of Koroški Bab and the ridge of Križ and the glacial valley of Ravenska Kočna, above which rise the forested peaks of Karavank. Ravenska Kočna is also the most popular starting point for visiting Češka Koča, the journey will take between an hour and a half to two hours.
