With its 33-year history, the Druga godba festival is one of the most important music festivals in Central Europe. With its concept, new approaches and 'discovery' of unknown musical content and geographical territories, it is unique in this cultural area. And the Second Band 2017 will be no less unique, when Inna Modja, Yasmine Hamdan, Gaye Su Akyol, Derek Gripper and others will be guests.
All the time since the creation of the festival in 1984 the program level of the festival rises, looking for new approaches and fresh voices. Festival Another band allows all visitors insight into the musical tradition and culture of different nations and thus contributes a significant share to the festival happenings in the capital. This year the festival will be open between Piran and Ljubljana, and transport between cities will be for free for festival ticket holders. They will be in Piran in Tartini square and in Montfort (old salt warehouse) performed Roy de Roy, Bella Ciao, King Ayisoba, and in Ljubljana the festival will take place at three venues: v Cinema Šiška, in Cankarjev dom and Metelkova. They will perform Jenny Hval, Inna Modja, Gaye Su Akyol, Black String, Pixvae, Kondi Band, Drago Ivanuša, Derek Gripper and others.
