Bohinj, Slovenia

Let's start the list with Bohinj, which, unlike Bled, is much less besieged, but also much more refreshing. It is nestled in the arms of the Julian Alps, so the scenery from the towel is just incredible. Although more and more people decide to visit Bohinj even in the summer months, especially during the week, on the shore of this crystal clear lake, you will without a doubt find some peace and enough space to refresh yourself.

Hallstatt, Austria

Not far from the popular Schladming is a beautiful mountain lake with a maximum depth of 125m. The crystal clear water makes it popular among divers, and around the lake you can find a series of small beaches for swimming and sunbathing. You can spend the night right in the picturesque town of Hallstatt on the shore of the lake, full of traditional alpine houses.

Ohrid, Macedonia

In the south of Europe, on the border with Albania, you can find the beautiful Lake Ohrid. The real tourist gem of Macedonia is also impressing this year with its small medieval churches and magnificent views, and you can take a boat from Ohrid to the other side of the lake, where you can find the monastery of St. Nauma.

Königssee, Germany

Lake Königssee is located in the south of Germany, right next to the border with Austria. Kraljevo jezero, where many royal heads spent their time on vacation. Germany's deepest lake, and at the same time the cleanest, is considered a real Bavarian pearl that attracts tourists from all over the world every year. The largest part of the lake is located within the Berchtesgarden National Park.

Lake Peruć, Croatia

Our southern neighbors also have some beautiful lakes. The most famous are undoubtedly the Plitvice lakes, and in the Split-Dalmatia region there is also the Perućko jezero, otherwise the third largest Croatian lake. It was created after the construction of a dam on the Cetina River, and along the shore you can also find a campsite, which is an excellent starting point for an active holiday by the lake shore.
