Hooray, today is World Nutella Day! For 14 years in a row, February 5th has been marked by this delicious spread, which has long been no longer just a spread on bread, but often also the main ingredient in desserts. Not to mention that Nutella got its own cafe and hotel during this time, and we also got to know white Nutella!
For World Nutella Day we can thank American blogger Sara Rosso, who marked the first World Nutella Day February 5, 2007. It soon became a global phenomenon, with fans sharing their passion for Nutella on social media through photos, recipes, songs and messages. In 2015, the "duty" was postponed to Ferrero, the company behind this delicious chocolate-hazelnut spread. At Ferrero, every year they look for a Nutella ambassador, someone with Sara's dedication, who then guides all Nutella lovers through the holiday itself. So today, no one can kick you if they catch you with a spoon (or fingers) in Nutella!

But to make everything a little easier, we have a great recipe for you puff pastry pie with Nutella! Just looking at the photo makes us drool, how about you?
Ingredients (for 8 pieces)
- 2 rolls of puff pastry
- 2 eggs
- 1 egg yolk
- 120 g of hazelnut flour
- 120 g Nutella (15 g/portion)
Preparation
Heat the Nutella over a water bath over low heat, stirring constantly. Then remove from the heat and add two eggs, one at a time, followed by the hazelnut flour. Beat everything together with a whisk until you get a smooth cream.
Roll out one roll of puff pastry, place it in a baking tray lined with baking paper, and pour the cream onto it up to about 2 cm from the edge. Cover with another rolled sheet of puff pastry and use your fingers and the flat side of a knife to press the edges together and against the pan to join the two puff pastry layers. Place in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
After removing the dessert from the refrigerator, use a fork to prick the surface and make decorative patterns as desired, or use a knife to cut diamonds into the surface.
In a bowl, beat the egg yolk with one tablespoon of cold water and coat the dessert. Then place it in the oven at 200° C for 25 minutes. After 25 minutes, lower the temperature to 170° C and bake for another 10 minutes. Take the pie out of the oven and cool it before serving. So sweet good run!
