1. Love teaches lessons

Going through another failed relationship can be a frustrating, heartbreaking and depressing experience. But remember that there is a time for everything. Just because that love is over doesn't mean it's over for you. Instead of looking at your failed relationships as a waste of time, make a list of everything you learned from that relationship.

Maybe you've learned to talk about your feelings and be vulnerable with someone else, and maybe you've learned that looks aren't everything.
If the relationship was toxic, you may have learned that you are stronger than you think. You may have learned what you do not want and will not tolerate in future relationships.

Regardless, take the lessons that love gives you and cherish them.

2. You have time to grow

Your single years are about learning who you are and growing from every experience you go through. If your ultimate goal is to get married, why not use this time to grow and develop the skills and qualities that will make you a great husband or wife?

For example: Can you cook? Can you manage your finances well? Do you have your own house/apartment? Are you patient? Are you good at expressing your feelings? Do you have selfish tendencies? This is better than simply giving up on love. Now is the time to do some self-exploration and find out who you want to be for yourself, your friends, your family and your future partner.

3. Now is the time for you

There's no better time to be a little selfish with your efforts, energy, and focus than when you're single. Now is the time to take a step towards your dream career, travel and focus on your social life. Of course, you can still do these things when you're in a relationship, but love can limit you.

There's no doubt it's worth it, but you can't spend months traveling the world while helping your partner pay the mortgage or raise a family. At least you can't do it as easily as you would when you're single.

Friendships are also important. These are the people who have supported you in every good and bad decision you've ever made.

Use this time as an excuse to focus on yourself and figure out who you are when you're not part of "us." Not only will this be good for your mental health and personal growth, but your confidence will also be incredibly attractive to your future partner.

If you want to find true love, you have to be willing to put it out there for your perfect person instead of settling! When you're waiting to find the perfect person for you, make sure your personality shines through.

Finding true love is spending quality time, learning the art of communication, sharing similar goals and beliefs (although - they say opposites attract!) Finding true love also means finding someone who attracts you, makes you laugh and respects you.

If you haven't found it yet, then why settle? You deserve the best relationship possible, so don't give up on love just yet. If you have to wait a little longer to find someone who will be the person you want, why not wait?

5. Only one person is needed

It only takes one person to steal your heart and change your world. You could meet the love of your life in a week and be with them for the rest of your life. If that happens, wouldn't you rather look back at the time you were single and remember how happy you were? That you enjoyed your alone time?

Your single years could be a blip on the radar compared to the years you'll share with your husband or wife. So enjoy it. Don't give up on love - because it only needs one.
