The first thing we teach our children are the rules of good behavior. We insist that they always say "please" and "thank you" and be nice to everyone. Unfortunately, adults sometimes forget to follow these rules, so in the following lines we will remind you of the 5 things you need to keep in mind to be kind.
Respect other people's personal space
It is okay to shake hands when greeting acquaintances or people you are meeting for the first time. Except, of course, during a pandemic. Leave hugs, kisses and other touching only to those you know for sure don't mind.
Do not ask the interlocutor too many personal questions
If the person you're talking to wants to confide in you and reveal something about themselves that isn't for everyone, listen to them and try to help them if they're struggling. In other cases, avoid asking too personal questions to people you've only met recently, and be careful with those you've known for a long time.
Do not be too loud in public or when you are a guest
No one wants to listen to your phone conversations on the bus. Therefore, refrain from this activity if you have not received an emergency call and try to speak more quietly. Also, be careful not to be too loud when visiting friends or relatives, especially if you are all sitting at the table.
Do not interrupt the interlocutor
Be a good listener and refrain from unnecessary interruptions when others are speaking, especially when they are telling you something important. Remember what you wanted to say and tell the other person when they finish speaking.
Be nice to both the janitor and the manager
Good manners dictate that you show equal respect for people from all walks of life when communicating with people. That's the only way you'll be a really nice person.
