December always produces the most photos, and the reason is more than obvious. Pleasant moments with family and friends just invite us to document them. Our phones have become cameras that we carry in our pockets all the time. And since in December we take more photos indoors with poor lighting conditions, we have prepared some tips or tricks to take your photos to the next level. This way you will create great holiday memories that will stay with you forever.
1. Make sure the phone lens is clean.
This is the simplest tip, but it has an incredible effect on the quality of the photo. Even a slightly "oily" lens can make a photo quite blurry. We are constantly touching our phones and thus also transfer a lot of dirt to the phone lens. Clean it with a soft cloth, the same as we use to clean corrective or sunglasses.
2. Light is your ally.
In December, you will often take photos indoors, where the light is weaker. Make sure they are in the room all the lights are on. With this, you will get the most possible artificial light. At the same time keep your "subject" facing away from the light source. Do not shoot against a light source, otherwise the photos will be dark. If there are windows in the room and you have natural light, always take pictures towards the room and not towards the windows. Only in this way will the people in the photos be properly lit. Remember: light is your greatest ally!
3. Magic HDR mode
Better smartphones allow you to capture photos in HDR mode. In the latter, a smartphone it takes multiple photos at the same time and finally combines them into a single photo. In this way, it captures a more complete spectrum of colors and balances the darker and lighter parts of the photos. The result often borders on magic. Be careful! Do not use this method when photographing moving objects, as they will be blurred. Often, better smartphones offer the option of taking photos with or without HDR mode. The choice of which way is better is yours.
4. Don't forget to focus on the subject.
Many times it happens to us that we just pick up the phone and press the virtual trigger on the screen. In doing so, we often forget that we have to put the object we are photographing in the center and focus it. This may cause the photo to be blurry. This is especially true for portrait photography. Most smartphones allow you to by pressing your finger, mark the part of the image that you want to focus on. And with this, we elegantly avoid the possible wrong prediction of the phone about our "true motive". Before you press the shutter button, make it clear to the phone what the subject of your photo is.
5. Take your time.
You need to take some time to get a good photo. Find the right composition, but it is also important that during the shooting stand as still as possible, i.e. do not move. If possible, rest your arm against your body and steady it. Just because of the posture, the results can be completely different and the photos will be much better. With smartphones, don't worry about the "memory" you have available, so always take more photos. That way, you might capture a really great photo that even a professional photographer wouldn't be ashamed of. But always take your time.
