From February 18 to 21, movements will speak instead of words on various stages around the capital. Namely, the 7th Gibanica - festival of contemporary Slovenian dance art is coming.
What Borštnik's meeting is for theater art, it is becoming more and more recognizable for contemporary Slovenian dance A hunchback. The festival, which will take place for the seventh time this year, has been serving biennially since 2003 a concentrated display of dance creativity on home soil, thus becoming the main platform that builds on the recognition of artists of modern dance in Slovenia. This year's program was also chosen by an international jury, this time consisting of Croatian dance critic Iva Nerina, independent professional dance consultant Nina Meško and Spaniard Marco Olivé López - program manager of Mercat de les Flors.

The seventh Gibanica will take place this year from February 18 to 21 on various stages around Ljubljana: in Cankarjev dom, Slovenska kinoteka, Ljubljana Dance Theater, Stari mestni elektrarna, Ljubljana City Museum, Španski borci, and at Srednja pedagogiteljskola and gymnasium Ljubljana. Various prizes will be awarded: for the best performance as chosen by the audience, for the best performance as chosen by the jury, and the club award named after the renowned dance creator and pedagogue Ksenia Hribar. It is her creativity that will be the topic of a two-day consultation at the festival, and as a central figure of modern contemporary dance in our country, her work will also be presented in short films. At the end of February, in twelve performances with a rich accompanying program, movements will speak instead of words in the capital.
