Bovec Outdoor Film Festival is a festival of films about sports, adventure and ecology, which brightens up the last days of December in Bovec every year.
This year's program is the seventh Boff in turn, it is even more crowded than last year. Of course, films are in the foreground, but that is far from all that will be happening. As the organizers announced, 57 films were submitted, of which they prepared a program with 28 films of various themes and stories. The competition program included 4 films from the Nature and Ecology category, 7 films from the Sport and Action category - short films and 16 films from the Sport and Action category - long films. Compared to previous years, this year there are more mountaineering and climbing films on the schedule, for a simple reason - the most of them were registered. But at the same time, these are films that are at the very top of this year's world production, such as Last Great Climb, Spice Girl, High Tension, The Waiting game, Sensei, Na pogled and Rockin Cuba. There are also a few ski films, one cycling film and two films from the world of canyoning. The wet Slovenian premiere of the first European surf documentary Old & Young & Sea is also highly anticipated, which "presents the beauty of this sport through interesting individuals in both a sporting and ecological light, and the way of life of the heroes of this Austrian feature film is also a strong factor," the organizers wrote. These are just some of the "elite twenty-eight" films at this year's Boff.
As mentioned, this year's Boff offers even more action. In addition to the film work, there will be a book fair, a photo exhibition, a winter workshop, lectures, performances by jugglers, string players and DJs. To mention only some events. In the beginning, they will "burn" Čupakadabr, we will be able to listen to a lecture by Stanet Kranjec and Ed Senica, see photos by Rožlet Bregar, enjoy the rhythms of the Bakalin duo, talk to local and foreign authors who come as guests to Boff and much more. During the last days of December, Bovec will breathe in the spirit of adrenaline.
