Apple has prepared a real technological offensive for September 2025. The new iPhone 17 Pro 2025 is expected to bring the biggest changes since 2017, when we got the iPhone X. A new design, a triple 48 MP camera, an A19 Pro chip, more RAM, a more capacious battery and – finally! – colors that are not shades of gray. Is this the iPhone we've been waiting for?

  • New ones iPhone 17 Dec will probably be the biggest upgrade after the iPhone X
  • New design with aluminum and glass (goodbye titanium)
  • Horizontal 48 MP camera trio and finally a new selfie camera
  • A19 Pro chip and 12 GB of RAM for future AI features
  • Wi-Fi 7, MagSafe, 6.3″ OLED display – everything expected, but improved
  • The price? It is expected that this year's price level will be maintained.
  • iPhone 17 Air will be the thinnest ever – for all of you who don't want the Pro price, but want the Pro look / but the price difference will only be psychological.

Every year in September we watch the same show:
A new iPhone, a new number, a new keynote, and finally the question: “Is this really enough to make me upgrade my iPhone 13?” Apple’s upgrade strategy in recent years has been more of a three-variable formula than anything else – a faster chip, a better camera, a new shade of gray. But 2025 seems different. The new iPhone 17 Pro brings changes that are not just an “evolution” – but almost a mini-revolution.

What happened? Maybe Apple sensed competition from the Android camp. Maybe the Vision Pro ecosystem opened the door to different thinking. Maybe Cupertino finally read the forums. Either way – if the rumors are accurate, the iPhone 17 Pro 2025 will be the biggest change since the iPhone X.

Let's look at 8 key changes for the new iPhone 17 Pro.

1. Design that is finally no longer boring

After years of restrained shapes and a colorless palette, Apple is finally switching from “Space Gray” to “Space Yay.” The new iPhone 17 Pro is said to have an aluminum body with a glass back, and according to some rumors, a horizontal camera layout (which, by the way, looks more futuristic) and colors that sound like summer cocktails: Teal Titanium, Green Titanium and Dark Green Titanium. Fresh, bold, and above all – not boring.

2. A camera that breathes with more pixels

The iPhone 17 Pro 2025 will be the first iPhone with everyone three rear cameras with 48 MP sensors. The main camera will have a mechanically adjustable aperture - which means more control over depth of field (yes, the bokeh will also be more "filmic"). The triple horizontal layout should also allow for better spatial video capture - possibly for more content produced for VR glasses, which are becoming very "mainstream".

The selfie camera will jump to 24 MP, which is no small feat in a time when Zoom calls and Insta stories are competing for your best angle. And if you've already started dreaming about shooting spatial videos for Vision Pro – That's why Apple is said to have turned the cameras horizontally.

Many still rely on the slightly modified rear end for the pro version.

3. A19 Pro: The brain that thinks for you

Inside the iPhone 17 Pro, the new A19 Pro chip, built on the advanced 3nm N3P process, will be powering the device. More speed, less power, more performance. RAM will be increased to 12GB, opening the door to serious multitasking and new AI tricks - perhaps even local image generation and cloud-free voice processing.

4. A display worthy of sunglasses

The 6.3-inch LTPO OLED with a 120Hz refresh rate remains standard, but Apple is adding an anti-reflective layer to reduce glare and greasy fingerprints. The always-on display will be more advanced than on the base models – for those who want to feel like they're looking at an expensive piece of technology at all times. Because… basically, that's what it is.

5. Battery + cooling = an iPhone that doesn't become a mini radiator

The thickness of the iPhone 17 Pro will increase to 8.725 mm – which means room for a larger battery. At the same time, Apple will for the first time incorporate the so-called “vapour chamber cooling” – a technology that we have known mainly in gaming phones. Your iPhone will be able to record 4K video or run games on Unreal Engine 5 without serving a warning: "iPhone needs to cool down."

6. Future connectivity: Wi-Fi 7 and Snapdragon X75

If you've been wondering when the iPhone will finally support Wi-Fi 7, now is the time. Apple's own Wi-Fi chip will enable speeds of up to 40 Gbps. And 5G connectivity will be handled by the Snapdragon X75, the most advanced modem on the market today. Faster, more energy-efficient, and more future-proof than most of us on Monday mornings.

7. Storage that can swallow your entire TikTok archive

Expected configurations: 128GB, 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB. With all the new cameras, 3D videos, and ever-growing apps, 1TB is almost a necessity—unless you live a digital ascetic life (in which case—bravo, you!).

8. Price: It won't be lower. Higher? Not necessarily either.

The starting price is expected to remain at $999 (around €1,199 in the EU), which is surprisingly “moderate” for such a big upgrade. And if we do get all of the above – it would be the first iPhone in a long time where we actually say, “OK, this is worth it.”

Conclusion: The biggest iPhone transformation since the iPhone X?

If all the predictions come true (and Apple isn't known for bluffing much), then the iPhone 17 Pro 2025 will be a milestone. Maybe not as revolutionary as the first iPhone in 2007, but certainly bold enough to make a difference. A new shape, new intelligence, a new camera, and – finally – a new color.

This is no longer just an annual refresh. This is Apple daring to be Apple again.

What does this iPhone mean for the future of mobile technology?

The iPhone 17 Pro 2025 is not just an upgrade – it is direction indicator, which Apple (and with it the entire industry) is moving into. Horizontal camera? Preparing for spatial video formats and mixed reality. A19 Pro chip and 12 GB of RAM? The foundation for local AI processing. New design? A fusion of aesthetics and functionality - with more emphasis on the user experience, not just the “wow” factor.

And although Apple still talks about “Apple Intelligence” in enigmatic phrases, it is becoming clear: the iPhone will no longer be just a smartphone. It becomes intelligent companion, which will be able to understand context, priorities and even your voice intonation. Having an iPhone 17 Pro will be like having a mini assistant in your pocket - only without the monthly salary and the need for coffee.

Is this the beginning of the end of the iPhone as we know it?

Actually… maybe. Looking at the bigger picture, Apple isn’t just creating a new phone, it’s creating an entire ecosystem of the future, where Vision Pro, MacBook, Apple Watch and iPhone connect into one big digital consciousness. With iPhone as the central control panel.

And while the iPhone 17 Pro will be the most expensive ever (a prediction), it's also the first in a long time that doesn't feel like an "iPhone 16 with a new hat." It feels like a device with a vision. Which isn't a bad thing—considering that "vision" is a pretty hot word in Apple's vocabulary right now.
