In a world where Tesla has become a status symbol for anyone who wants to be an early adopter, even seven years too late, it's time to look beyond the fence. Elon's cars are everywhere - on Instagram, TikTok and parked at charging stations, waiting another 30 minutes for 80 %. But the world of electric cars has moved on, while Tesla still offers a minimalist interior that resembles an Ikea puzzle. And yes, software updates are no longer enough. Here are nine electric models that are not only breathing down Tesla's neck - some are already waving at it from the rearview mirror. Our list of 2025 electric cars that are better than Tesla in many ways.

8+ Great Electric Cars of 2025 That Will Outsell Tesla?!

Tesla may be the pioneer of electric vehicles, but today it is no longer the only choice. Introducing 8+ electric cars, which outperform on various criteria – from performance to practicality Tesla.

8+ Great Electric Cars of 2025 That Will Outsell Tesla

1. Hyundai IONIQ 5 N

The Hyundai IONIQ 5 N is a true athlete among electric vehicles. With 478 kW (650 hp) and acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.4 seconds, it offers an adrenaline-filled drive, complemented by advanced features such as N Grin Boost and N e-Shift, which simulates gearshifting. With an 84 kWh battery and fast charging (10–80 % in 18 minutes), it is ready for long journeys. The IONIQ 5 N combines sportiness and practicality, which puts it ahead of the Tesla Model 3 Performance. Star on the list – 8+ great electric cars 2025.

2. Porsche Taycan

The Porsche Taycan delivers a premium driving experience with up to 560 kW (761 hp) and acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.8 seconds. Its 800-volt architecture enables fast charging, while precise handling and a luxurious interior ensure comfort and prestige. Compared to the Tesla Model S Plaid, the Taycan offers better driving dynamics and build quality.

3. Nio ET9

The Nio ET9 is a technologically advanced electric car with a power output of 520 kW (707 hp) and acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.8 seconds. Its 900-volt architecture allows for fast charging with a power of up to 600 kW, meaning it is ready to drive in minutes. With advanced autonomous driving and a luxurious interior, it is a serious competitor to the Tesla Model S.

4. Zeekr 007

Forget the “budget premium” philosophy of the Tesla Model 3 – Zeekr 007 is an electric sedan that looks like it came from the future, but is already ready to drive past Teslas today with a confident smile and a range that even James Bond would envy.

With two electric motors and a system output of 475 kW (646 hp), it accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in a lightning-fast 2.84 seconds – putting it alongside the fastest production electric cars in the world. But speed is just the beginning. With a 100 kWh battery and a range of up to 870 kilometers (CLTC) on a single charge, the Zeekr is a real travel rocket, while the Model 3, with a realistic 500–600 km range, looks like a city kid with too much ambition.

Inside? A digital realm. A massive 15.05-inch floating display, a 35.5-inch AR Head-Up Display (one of the largest on the market), and mood-sensitive interior lighting. Plus, there's massage seats, a switchless steering wheel (hello minimalism 2.0), and a UI that understands you even when you don't.

5. Fiat Grande Panda Electric (2024)

The Fiat Grande Panda Electric is a compact city car with a 44 kWh battery and a range of up to 320 km. With a power output of 83 kW (113 hp) and acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 11 seconds, it is ideal for city driving. Its price, which starts at under €25,000, and its practicality put it ahead of Tesla, which has no comparable model in this segment.

6. Lynk & Co 02 EV

The Lynk & Co 02 EV is an electric crossover with a 66 kWh battery and a range of up to 445 km. With a power of 200 kW (272 hp) and acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.5 seconds, it offers a dynamic ride. Its subscription model and focus on community set it apart from Tesla, which focuses primarily on ownership. At the same time, its price is affordable - in Slovenia, where the author comes from, the car with subsidies is only 26,000 euros in the current special offer.

7. XPeng X9

If you think the Tesla Model X is still the ultimate electric family MPV, then you probably haven't met XPeng X9 – the electric MVP among MVPs. This Chinese flying saucer on four wheels combines futuristic design with a very practical ambience, easily accommodating 7 passengers in a premium-class cabin.

Under the hood (well, technically under the floor) it packs up to 370 kW (500 hp), allowing it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in around 5 seconds – more than enough for an adrenaline-fuelled school bus. And the 101.5 kWh battery gives it a range of up to 702 kilometres (WLTP), meaning you won't be looking for a charger every other day. And when you do, the 800-volt system will charge it like a pro – from 10 to 80 % in just 20 minutes.

The interior is a digital lounge with smart assistants, huge screens and backrests that almost massage themselves. The XNGP autonomous system is currently one of the most advanced on the market and can drive in cities without a driver, where Tesla still needs “safety hands on the wheel.”

8. Rivian R1S

The Rivian R1S is a rugged, seven-seat electric SUV with up to 623 kW (835 hp). With a range of up to 640 km and a towing capacity of up to 3,500 kg, it is ideal for adventurers. Its off-road capability and practicality put it ahead of the more on-road-oriented Tesla Model X.

The Lucid Gravity is a luxury electric SUV with 617 kW (828 hp) and acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.4 seconds. With a range of up to 725 km and a spacious interior for five or seven passengers, it offers superior comfort. Its build quality and advanced technology put it ahead of the Tesla Model X. One of the must-haves on the list – 8+ Great Electric Cars of 2025.

Conclusion: 8+ Electric Cars 2025 – That Are Proven to Beat Tesla Somewhere

Looking at the diversity on the list – from the brutally sporty Hyundai IONIQ 5 N to the small, cute and realistically affordable Fiat Grande Panda Electric – we quickly realize that Tesla is no longer the only choice. Nor the most sensible choice for everyone.

  • Want something that actually turns heads on the road? Zeekr 007.
  • Are you looking for the ultimate “family SUV with soul”? Lucid Gravity.
  • Do you prefer climbing hills to statistics? Rivian R1S.
  • Are you a minimalist at heart, but don't want a sponsorship relationship with Elon's vision of the world? XPeng G9 will be your zen.

And then there is Hyundai IONIQ 5 N, which is probably the closest thing to a car that successfully combines sportiness, utility and advanced technology in one piece. There is no need to compromise with it. It is a true electric “car” in the classic sense of the word – with emotion, design and character.

So Tesla is still relevant, but no longer dominant. It's time for the electric vehicle world to stop revolving around a single sun. And the good news? The universe is full of other stars. Unless Tesla truly drives itself completely autonomously. Then it will be dominant again.
