8 things from the past that you deserve to forgive yourself for!

Leave old habits in the past.

On the journey of life, we learn every day, move forward and grow through experience. We make mistakes, but we don't give up, we look for solutions.

If you're self-critical, or maybe you're constantly analyzing what you've done wrong and looking for directions for motivation, or you're too hard on yourself, here are eight things you deserve to forgive yourself for!

1. You didn't know any other way

Forgive yourself for not knowing any other way, for thinking you couldn't move forward, for being stuck, for not being able to choose differently, for choosing things that weren't meant for you. And because you didn't know what you wanted - even if it hurt other people in the process (including you).

2. Saying words that were not your truth

Forgive yourself for saying things that didn't come from the most honest and authentic parts of you. Words that still came from those unhealed places. And words that came from where you were when you were hurt and not those that reflect who you are now.

3. Traumas dictated your personality

Forgive yourself for behaving in all those ways that don't really reflect you and never will. Forgive yourself for allowing fear to be the driver of your journey on the map of life.

4. You didn't know how to respect yourself

Forgive yourself for agreeing to things you didn't deserve when you thought you did. For thinking that everything is more important than respecting yourself and demanding that others do the same.

You didn't know how to respect yourself - forgive yourself!

5. You didn't have personal boundaries set

Forgive yourself for not having better boundaries. Forgive yourself for all the times you didn't say no, for all the times you did something you didn't really want to do. And for allowing people to take your time, respect, love in ways that you now know don't make you feel good around them. Your boundaries evolve throughout life, as do you.

6. You haven't done enough

Forgive yourself for not doing more and start being proud of what you did. You deserve to forgive yourself for your own sake, for the sake of moving on, for the sake of becoming the person you really want to be. You are doing the best you can and you have always done enough - remember that.

7. You didn't listen to your inner voice

Forgive yourself for all the times you ignored and repressed everything inside you that you knew all along inside that it was right to do it. Forgive yourself for not taking yourself seriously, for not knowing - how to be a friend - to yourself.

8. You didn't allow yourself to be happy

Forgive yourself for all the moments that went by without feeling them fully because fear and anxiety got in the way. The times you didn't give yourself permission to feel happy and all the times you thought you didn't deserve it.

Forgive yourself for overthinking, wondering, and for all the times you didn't fully let go. Forgive yourself for not allowing yourself to be happy and decide that from this moment on - you will receive opportunities for happiness, contentment, respect, love. You deserve it.
