If you live in a city or in a shared facility, you are most likely doomed to wash your car at a self-service car wash, or take your vehicle to an automatic car wash (if you don't want it well). Let's see why at least 90 % people are completely wrong about washing their car at a self-service car wash. Do you know someone who wrongly washes their car at a self-service manual car wash?!
Car maintenance is completely wrong by those who wash the car in automatic laundromats. This is, however, logical, because despite the many claims of experts that this type of washing is safe for your car, in recent years the technology of painting cars has changed to such an extent that cars are much less "thickly" painted than they were five years ago. Namely, the thickness of the varnish decreased by more than 50 %. This means that manufacturers save 50 % of material and paint two cars with the same amount of paint. What is good for manufacturers is bad for buyers, because the long-term maintenance of the car also depends on the thickness of the paint. Do you know someone who wrongly washes their car at a self-service manual car wash?!
If a is truean absolute ban on washing the car in an automatic car wash (the cars will practically no longer be polished due to the thinness of the paint), should everything be correct in the self-service manual?! It's not. In a conversation with operators of manual car washes, we found that 90 % users wash their car completely incorrectly, as they mix up the procedures and do not use things correctly.
Therefore, we will explain to you how to maintain the car and clean it in a self-service car wash, so that you do as little "damage" to the car as possible and it will keep its beautiful appearance for a long time.
- step: Shampooing - active foam - foam program If the sheet is not heated, we recommend an immediate primary application of active foam on the car. This will release the biggest dirt, which will be easier to wash off in the second step.
- step: Rinsing of primary dirt - soft water - rinsing program When the active foam flows from the sides of the car, but does not dry, the car is rinsed with the last program - soft water or rinsing. The car will look much better than it did before this wash, and if you washed the car a few days ago, you can practically drive away. It is important not to wipe the car washed in this way with a towel, as there is too much dirt on the paint that would damage the paint. If you want a really clean one, proceed to step three. Immediately after the second step, I always apply a degreaser to the rims, usually K2.
Footnote: When washing, I never use a washing program, because there is an admixture in the water that should "in theory" break down the dirt. Since I have ceramics on my car, I don't use this program.
- step: Re-shampoo with active foam or shampoo I myself also use active foam in the third step, since there is no place in a self-service car wash to pour water into a bucket. The foam acts as a catalyst between the glove that I apply car shampoo to and the sheet metal. This creates a thick layer between the glove and the car and reduces the risk of injury. If I had water available, I would create a foamy shampoo mixture in the bucket that prevents damage to the polish.
I wash the car in 3 or 4 zones: first the roof, the windshield and the hood up to ⅔. In the second lane, the side windows and the rear window. In the third step, I clean the lower part of the door, and the rear bumper at the end.
Footnote: Turn the glove to the "fresh" side when washing. Using a clean part, first wash the mask and the rear window and the part of the hood up to the bumper.
- step: Car wash - soft water - rinse and wax program The last step is a thorough car wash. Personally, I also use wax in better manual car washes. I give the car a quick wash, then wax and use another chip to give the car a really good wash. Then I wipe the car with a special towel for drying, folded into 2 or 4 parts. Some people use a spray - this dryer, which prevents "love marks", I don't use it myself, but I pay a lot of attention to the cleanliness of the towels.
Conclusion: I hope I've given you an idea of a car wash process that will cause as little damage to your car as possible.
