A church might not seem like an ideal place to live, but the architects at Scrafano Architects have convinced us otherwise, who, in collaboration with Linc Thelen Design, turned an empty church in Chicago into a beautiful family apartment. The pews, pulpit, altar, confessionals and other religious "furniture" had to go, replaced by minimalist, secular pieces of furniture, while the "belly" of the church remained intact, including the beautiful arched windows and stained glass windows. Thus, history and modernity meet in every room.

Using neutral colors and geometric shapes, the designers emphasized spaciousness home, which has, among other things, seven bedrooms (including one with a climbing wall) and six bathrooms and 7.6 meter ceilings (heating costs will therefore not be exactly low).
