Abecedarium

The restaurant Abecedarium is located on Ribje trg in the heart of Ljubljana. It is interesting that the restaurant is located in the oldest house in Ljubljana, where Primož Trubar also lived, which is why it was named after the first Slovenian printed book. In the warmer months, we can refresh ourselves in the large garden, where, while enjoying culinary specialties, we have an overview of what is happening in the old part of the city. They pay a lot of attention to the fact that their food is homemade and fresh, and all dishes are prepared with homemade olive oil. They especially recommend venison pate with cranberries, wide noodles with truffles, cod with Idrija žlikrofi and curd spoons with hot cherries. For starters, you can try stallion capracio, cheese plate or steak tartare. Seafood lovers will enjoy grilled shrimp, buzara shrimp, fish brodette with baked polenta or grilled sea bass. Among the main dishes, it is worth highlighting Prekmurje bograč, lamb ribs in mint sauce, tagliat with arugula, wild boar with cranberries, turkey slices on radicchio with sesame and polenta in the Karšev style. For vegetarians, the large selection of salads, such as e.g. seafood and porcini salad, goat cheese salad and pasta salad. At the end, we are spoiled with desserts such as nutella cake with banana, chocolate statuette, pineapple with strawberries, various sorbets and wraps. If we decide to eat inside, in an interesting blue-white ambiance, we can see computers that offer us access to the world wide web while we wait for our culinary delights.
