"As long as poverty, injustice and inequality persist in the world, none of us can truly rest!" said the great Nelson Mandela. Do we see all these phenomena only in TV reports and have we become so used to news about them that we have become indifferent to them or accept them as something normal? Do we cringe at them because we find them absurd? Maybe it's time to write down a list of facts that we've 'bought' as normal over time, but we shouldn't.
Absurd facts that we have taken for granted, but we shouldn't:
- There are us in the world 7.5 billion. 8 the richest earthlings have as much wealth in total as the poorest half of the population. It comes with money power, the power of decision making and that's how the world goes round. The poorest have none none affect changes. Absurd?
- Still, despite the sufficient amount of resources and food for all, millions of people live in complete lack and poverty.
- We still use environmentally friendly fuels harmful and ultimately co-responsible for wars, even though we have practically all the necessary sources for obtaining energy right in front of our noses.
- We have a lot of different ones religions, which, instead of combining, at the end separate.
- We spend time on social networks, but in the real world we are losing mutual contact.
And we could go on and on. We can tell ourselves that the world is the way it is and move on with our eyes closed, but we can try a different way. To begin with, yes we open our eyes.
