Photo: Envato

We have already set sail into the summer, but not everyone likes the seaside and salty sea water. Kranjska Gora is perfect for those who prefer mountains and lakes.

To begin with, let's take a look at some interesting accommodations that offer a good starting point for sports activities and boast hospitality.

Villa Triglav

The quiet family hotel overlooking the emerald lake Jasna offers eight comfortable rooms, including two suites and a family room. In bad weather, you can soak in the indoor pool or relax in the winter garden overlooking the lake, and in good weather, the accommodation is an excellent starting point for active holidays. Villa Triglav offers a wonderful break in the embrace of the Julian Alps, not far from a wide variety of hiking and cycling trails.

Apartment house Berghi

Apartment house Berghi is located next to the popular bike path, not far from the ski resort. The nearby stream Pišnica provides coolness even on summer days, and because of its location, Berghi is popular here among fans of sports and a wide variety of activities. Within the accommodation, you can find apartments for two people, all the way up to larger ones for ten people. The three apartments are also suitable for families, as they cover 120m2 of space and can accommodate from 6 to 10 people.

Triangle Boutique Hotel

Kranjska Gora's newest acquisition is a boutique hotel located next to the bike path, a stone's throw from the starting point for the popular Martuljska waterfalls. It offers magnificent views of the peaks of the Martuljska group and is an excellent starting point for exploring the pristine natural and cultural heritage of the Triglav National Park. Eleven modernly furnished double rooms and four apartments are available within the hotel. If you need special pampering, choose one of the deluxe rooms, which boast a large bathtub from which you can admire the mighty Špik.

Rooms with a Pr' Gavedarjo story

The hundred-year-old homestead has been given a new look and content with modern and design-furnished rooms. The textiles were provided by the renowned designer Almira Sadar, who left a very special impression on the homestead in the idyllic village of Podkoren with her motifs. The rooms with the Pr' Gavedarjo story tend towards sustainable tourism, which is reflected in the selected materials as well as in the breakfast with products from local producers and delicacies with a fair trade certificate.

What can you do in Kranjska Gora? The list of activities is long, but you may be interested in the activities that we have chosen.

Zipline and wind tunnel

The Planica Nordic Center offers endless activities in winter, but despite this, they make sure that the offer is not limited at the same time as the snow. This way, you will be able to try the steepest zipline in the world, which is 566 meters long, and its speed reaches up to 85 km/h. Fans of floating in the air will be delighted with the wind tunnel, which offers an original experience in the air.

Julian's Trail

There are a lot of hiking trails in the surroundings of Kranjska Gora, but the Julijana Trail is something special. The hiking trail Julijana Trail does not lead along the mountain peaks, but along the edge of the Julian Alps and the Triglav National Park, where you can feel the real pulse of the environment and learn more about the rich natural heritage. You will walk past clear rivers, lakes, waterfalls, among colorful mountain and meadow flowers. Instead of the challenges offered by the climbs, the Julijana Trail will present you with the personal challenge of finding your own role in relation to nature and responsible tourism.

Juret Robič's cycling route

The cycling route, better known to many as the long-distance cycling route D2, is one of the most beautiful cycling routes and is visited annually by a large number of cyclists of all generations. Speljana follows the former railway line from Jesenice all the way to Italy, and the most attractive part is the part from Mojstrana to Rateč. The path offers beautiful views of the surrounding valley, and there are also many resting places where you can rest and refresh yourself.

Fairy trail 10 huts

One of the less well-known hiking trails, it winds from Kranjska Gora, to Gozd Martuljka, and on to Jasna on Vršič and on Slemenovo Špica, all the way to Mojčina dom on Vitranac and back to Krajnska Gora. It offers 40 kilometers of hiking trails that you can walk in four stages, and you can also spend the night in nearby huts. Even little hikers will be impressed by it, and they will be distracted by collecting stamps. For a better performance, the TIC Kranjska Gora offers a folding bike so you don't get lost on the way.
