Intimate cinema came to life in Maribor

Intimate cinema

The Intimate Cinema has come to life in the community space GT22 in Maribor, where art films will be shown every other Thursday. The cinema was created due to the need for quality film content in the city, which was in short supply after the closure of the Udarnik cinema.

Intimate cinema has filled the space in the former night club, where it has been operating since last year Intimate theater, and stands behind the project Mobile Impactor, which grew on the incinerator of Maribor's Udarnik Institute. And it was the void created by the closure of the Udarnik Cinema that sparked the need for an Intimate Cinema, which is returning to the Styrian capital art films to the environment as they belong.

After closing the doors over a year ago Kino Udarnik, there were some art cinema screenings in the Coliseum, which, frankly, is not the most suitable place for such films. "We still think that the multiplex is not suitable for such a film production, which needs a cultural and not primarily a consumer space where the smell of popcorn dominates," said the program coordinator Stamp Brdnik. There is room for up to 50 spectators in the Intimate Cinema, which is quite enough, as they will show films for a very narrow audience. There will be screenings every other Thursday until June 15, 2017. Documentaries and feature films will alternate. Juret Breceljnik's film Crossing Iceland broke the ice. On March 16, 2017, an Iranian-French film will be shown Salesman (Forushande) and Kozoletovo Nightlife.
